Hungry Wolf Cafe
Welcome to our school lunch program. The Hungry Wolf Cafe team is committed to serving our students nutritious and great-tasting food. All menu items are cooked from scratch in house and everything is fresh, never frozen. We offer a hot lunch option as well as a salad bar with locally sourced items (some even from our own SFX garden).

Menu
Each meal comes as is listed in the menu. It will have all components assembled on the tray; protein, fruit, vegetable and grain. This will expose our students to a variety of healthy food that they may not choose on their own. The menu is updated monthly and seasonal/local items will be served when available. The menu will be constantly evaluated and adjusted based on feedback from our customers – the Hungry Wolves! HWC Success Story from an SFX Parent
Learning about SFX’s nutrition-focused approach to student lunch was a perk, but I had no what an impact it would have on our daughter and family! Going into Kindergarten, our daughter had the ‘typical’ six-year-old diet and mealtime was a source of frustration for everyone. We dreamed of having adventurous eaters, but chicken nuggets on repeat was our reality. At the start of the school year we pumped up ‘hot lunch’ as a big deal and told her that’s what the big kids eat. Each month, we’d print the Hungry Wolf Café menu and allow her to circle what sounded good. It started slow – hamburger, hungry wolf bites, mac ‘n cheese, but as the months went on, her willingness to try new items grew and by the end of the year she was circling almost every day’s menu! Of course she doesn’t love it all, but she’s trying so many new things, is excited to tell us about lunch and mealtime at home is exponentially better for everyone. Having the salad bar is the best safety net because we both know that even if she doesn’t like the daily meal, she won’t be left hungry. As a lunch mom volunteer, I see firsthand how fresh and delicious everything is and love how they ‘sneak’ in an assortment of sides to expose kids to as many foods and flavors as possible. I’m so grateful for the Chef Michelle Daniels, the Hungry Wolf Café and the team that’s putting together such a nutritious variety of foods for our kiddos. Farm Raiser Bags
