Financial Aid

St. Francis Xavier strives to make a Catholic education affordable for all families. Regardless of income level or religious affiliation, there are different options for families to consider. Please note: Students must be enrolled at St. Francis Xavier for the 2025-2026 school year in order to be eligible for scholarship.

Tax Credits and Student Tuition Organization (STOs)

Many St. Francis Xavier families are reducing, or completely eliminating, their school tuition by asking Arizona residents to redirect their Private School Tax Credit to create tuition scholarships for their children.

At no extra cost, Arizona residents can redirect their taxes to your family to create tuition scholarships, while deducting the full amount from their state taxes and receiving a dollar-for-dollar tax credit in return. There is no limit to the number of donations you can receive.

ESA Program

The Arizona Department of Education has officially announced that the ESA Program is in effect. The ESA Program allows parents of qualified students to utilize public monies to purchase educational services from private schools, education providers, and/or vendors. Eligible students receive 90% of the State aid that would have gone to the student’s school district or charter school had the student remained enrolled in the public school system. For the latest information, please visit the AZED website. Please note, you will need to apply for ESA by March 1st, 2026.

NOTICE REGARDING TUITION FUNDING PROGRAMS

The State of Arizona provides several options to assist families in paying for your child’s Catholic education, including the Empower Scholarship Account (ESA) Program and through State Tuition Organization (STO) tax credit funds. These programs are offered through the State and/or through the individual STO, and are not managed by the School.

Therefore, you are responsible for compliance with all terms, conditions to eligibility, and legal requirements related to any programs in which you participate. Please note in particular that pursuant to state law, if you choose to utilize an Empower Scholarship Account, you may not utilize STO funds (or vice versa). The School is not responsible for ensuring your compliance with this or any other term, condition, law or requirement relating to tuition assistance programs.

Furthermore, please be aware that payment of your child’s tuition is your responsibility, whether or not you choose to participate in ESA, STO, or any other programs or options to assist your family. These programs may not cover 100% of the cost of tuition and fees, and therefore any outstanding portion will remain your responsibility.
