Fall Musical Auditions

Dear Students and Parents,

Junie B. Jones: The Musical follows the spunky and outspoken first-grader as she navigates the challenges of a new school year. From losing her kindergarten best friends to needing glasses and preparing for a kickball tournament, Junie learns to face obstacles head-on and turn bad situations into good ones.

Developed by Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich, this upbeat adaptation is drawn from several books in Barbara Park’s best-selling children’s series.

Welcome to Junie B. Jones, SFX’s Fall Musical 2026. We are all so excited to progress through 1st grade with Junie B. Show dates this fall are November 12 and 13, 2026.

All 3rd - 8th graders are welcome to audition. Those chosen for parts will be registered into the enrichment class. The cost for the class is $200.00 per student. This cost covers all show materials, costumes, props and set pieces. There are several solo parts, with many small speaking parts and ensemble parts. Please fill out the following form with the appropriate date for the students’ grade level.

By filling out this form, this means you have given permission for your child to stay on campus on their appointed audition day. Please pick up your students at the front gates at 4:30.

Auditions will be held on August 11, 12, & 13. 3rd - 5th graders will audition on Tuesday, August 11 from 3:00 - 4:30. 6th, 7th and 8th graders will audition on Wednesday, August 12 from 3:00 - 4:30. Thursday, August 14 will be callbacks for those students the directors would like to see again before final casting. **NOT BEING CALLED BACK DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE NOT CAST, THIS JUST MEANS WE DON'T NEED TO SEE YOU AGAIN. IF YOU ARE NOT CALLED BACK IT COULD MEAN THERE WAS NOT A PART WE FELT YOU WERE RIGHT FOR, OR WE MAY HAVE ALREADY CHOSEN THE PERFECT PART FOR YOU! **

These sessions will consist of cold line readings, a group sing-a-long with individual solo auditions and a movement/dance class. All students will go through the audition process to determine the role that fits. The auditions are to find the best match for the actor/part in the production. If the student is not right for any of the parts, the student will not be registered for the class.

As this is a school sponsored enrichment class, we will uphold and maintain the school’s discipline policy. Any student not able to maintain respectful positive behavior may be asked to leave the class. Subsequent behavioral infractions may lead to a complete removal from the class up to and through the on stage performance. An enrichment class, such as a musical, must contain a positive work environment to remain a safe and enjoyable learning experience for all.

This type of enrichment class is for those students interested in music, stage performance and having a lot of fun with their fellow actors while working as a team to present a polished performance. Committing to this enrichment class and this production means you will be present at all assigned rehearsals and all tech week rehearsals and performances.

Rehearsals will be after school one day a week from 3:00 - 4:30 and Fridays, from 1:00 - 3:30..

All students may not be called for each rehearsal. A more detailed schedule will be published after the cast has been announced.

All cast members will receive a script. We do expect cast members to bring that script to each rehearsal and work on their lines, songs and dances at home during the week. Costumes and props will be provided, but cast members may be asked to supply personal items like tights, socks, shoes, etc. Each cast member is expected to be at each assigned rehearsals UNLESS there have been previous arrangements made. It is so important that everyone be present and committed to have a successful production.

Tech week is a time of intense rehearsal and sometimes high anxiety over performing. We ask that no plans for travel, Dr. appts, etc, be made during that week. ALL cast members will be called for each technical rehearsal for the entire time. We treat these final rehearsals as performances. There will be one daytime school performance and 2 evening public performances. IF YOUR STUDENT IS NOT ABLE TO COMMIT TO THESE REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCES, PLEASE DO NOT AUDITION FOR THE CLASS.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns about our production. Communication will take place through email, so please talk with your student about any changes they have been told and look for group emails from our production team.
