Preparing for High School

There are a variety of High School options available for our students to explore as the prepare for the next step in their adacemic journey. Below you will find information about both Catholic High Schools and Public Schools, as well.

Most school applications open in October but each school's process might be slightly different, so please visit their websites for specific information. The Catholic High Schools will make visits to our campus and our students are encouraged to visit their Open Houses, as well. Some schools also offer Shadow Days.

We highly recommend that every student apply to at least two high schools. It is always better to explore options and to have a choice. For more information, please take a look at our High School Application Process FAQs

High School Placement Test

The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is the primary entrance and admissions exam required by private Catholic High Schools in Arizona. HSPT results are one part of the admissions process and help schools better understand each student’s academic strengths and readiness for high school.

There are 298 multiple-choice questions divided into 5 distinct sections: Verbal Skills, Quantitative Skills, Reading, Mathematics, and Language Skills. It is a timed test and it is typically administered in December of a student's 8th-grade year.

Principal Interviews

Our Principal, Mr. Watson, spends time meeting with every eighth grade student before writing his/her recommendation letter.

These one-on-one conversations help Mr. Watson gain deeper insight into each student as a whole person. This insight allows him to craft thoughtful, personalized recommendation letters that reflect the unique contributions and character of each student.
